Park Expanding Fullerton Electronics Plant

Park Electrochemical Corp., a Lake Success, N.Y.-based electronics maker, is nearing completion of an expansion of its Fullerton plant.

The company is spending $40 million to $50 million to upgrade the plant on Orangethorpe Avenue and another facility in Newburgh, N.Y.

When completed, the expansions are expected to increase the output of the two plants by $175 million to $200 million, according to company officials. The work at Fullerton is set to be completed in January, according to a company spokeswoman.

The upgrade includes new technology designed to reduce production costs and to improve cycle times, yields and product quality, the company said. The Fullerton plant, which operates under Park’s Nelco subsidiary, makes printed circuit boards and other materials.
