Liberty Mutual Consolidating Offices

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. is consolidating operations in Orange County at two offices near the Block at Orange.

The company’s commercial claims and sales departments will be working from 333 City Boulevard West in Orange. Liberty Mutual has signed a 6 1/2-year lease for 41,480 square feet in the building. The deal is valued at $6.5 million.

Liberty Mutual’s legal department will take 14,585 square feet of space at 1 City Boulevard West in Orange. The five-year lease is estimated to be worth more than $1.5 million.

Also taking offices in the newly rented areas will be employees dealing with Liberty Mutual’s workers’ compensation business and personal marketing programs.

“It’s a relatively large consolidation for that market,” said Seth Dudley, executive vice president of Julien J. Studley in Los Angeles, who represented Liberty Mutual in negotiations. “It just shows the relative strength of that area (the north-central submarket) as an alternative to the airport market.”

Also helping to broker the deal was Studley’s David Kimball. Both buildings are owned by Spieker Properties.

Liberty Mutual’s new offices will be on opposite ends of the Block at Orange.

“They’re very happy with all of the amenities, which include being close to Edison Field,” said Dudley.
