The Recall, Cont’d
Hey, Rick, in your Oct. 13 “Californeea” editorial on the recall election, you state that Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger should offer Tom McClintock a “key finance job.”
That would be unconstitutional (as Tom correctly pointed out to Arnold’s team when they made a similar offer during the campaign). Article IV, Section 13 of the state constitution states: “A member of the Legislature may not, during the term for which the member is elected, hold any office or employment under the state other than an elective office.”
Members may not resign and take a job in the administration. They have to wait until the end of the term for which they were elected.

I really enjoy the OC Insider and look forward to reading it every week. It is the first place I look if I am busy and only have a moment to glance at the OCBJ.

Next Year Baseball!
Weren’t the playoffs and World Series great?
No!
After years of watching the baseball playoffs on TV, loyal Angels fans have gotten a taste of what October is really about. We want it again!
With a new owner, maybe the inability of the Angels organization to see that it has always lacked quality starting pitching will be changed.
Go Angels, back to the World Series and the incredible time we had last year in October!
