FileNet Posts Big Jump in Sales, Profits

Profits at Costa Mesa-based FileNet Corp. nearly quadrupled in the second quarter, thanks to an 11% jump in revenue, the company said Tuesday.

Sales grew 11% from a year earlier to $104.6 million. That beat the $103.2 million in sales analysts were expecting.

The company made $8.7 million in the quarter, up nearly 300% from a year earlier.

FileNet makes software that manages documents on corporate networks.

“We are proud of our results for this quarter, the best second quarter we have ever had, with strong revenue growth and expanded operating margins and earnings per share,” said Lee Roberts, FileNet’s chief executive. “Looking forward, we’re encouraged by the strong interest we see for our (corporate document management) and (business process management) offerings and remain focused on our long-term strategy of expanded market leadership.”
