Aliso Viejo-based Buy.com has launched what it called a price war with Seattle-based Amazon.com Inc., the online retailer said Monday.
Buy.com said it plans to sell in-stock books at 10% below what Amazon.com sells them for.
The promotion could become permanent, Buy.com said.
Already, the company offers free shipping on book orders of more than $25, which also competes directly with Amazon.com’s shipping offer.
