Nogin Buys ModCloth

Tustin-based e-commerce solutions provider Nogin has acquired fashion e-tailer ModCloth.

The purchase from Go Global Retail was on undisclosed financial terms. The acquisition marks Nogin’s first purchase of a consumer brand.

Nogin works with brands such as Yeezy, Charming Charlie and Bebe to help manage their e-commerce technology for assistance in things such as sales, fulfillment and marketing. The company works across the the fashion, beauty, health, wellness and consumer packaged goods industries.

Nogin had previously operated as Branded Online Inc.

Modcloth, which sells women’s clothing and accessories with an emphasis on vintage-inspired styles, was acquired by Walmart in 2017 for a reported $50 million. The big box retailer sold the business to Go Global Retail in 2019.

ModCloth’s staff of 55 will work out of Nogin’s Tustin office, in addition to a Pittsburgh call center.
