Irvine-based Immunis Inc., an Irvine-based biotechnology company working on immunity problems caused by aging, has caught the attention of Peter H. Diamandis, who has jointed its executive advisory board.
Diamandis, who has created more than 25 companies in the areas of space, education, venture capital and longevity, was once named by Fortune magazine as one of the “World’s 50 Greatest Leaders.”
“I haven’t been this excited about a biotech company in a long time!” Diamandis said in a statement released by Immunis. “The approach Immunis is taking to reproduce the stem cell secretome and the focus on Sarcopenia is brilliant. Besides the multitude of potential longevity related benefits, battling Sarcopenia could have one of the biggest impacts on healthy aging we’ve seen this decade.”
Immunis was founded by Hans Keirstead, who was awarded a Business Journal Innovator of the Year earlier this month. For more on Keirstead, see this week’s issue of the Business Journal.
