CSUF is starting its spring semester remotely in response to the “increasing spread of the Omicron variant in Orange County,” according to a letter released by university president Fram Virjee on Friday.
Â
The university will deliver courses remotely for the first two weeks of the semester, from Jan. 22 until the anticipated return date, Feb. 7, the letter stated.
Â
“Temporarily delaying face-to-face instruction was not what we hoped for, but we believe that this decision allows us to prioritize health and safety without sacrificing academic quality and success,” Virjee said.Â
Â
The campus will remain open to staff and students who work on-site and use its in-person services. All must provide documentation of a COVID-19 booster shot between Jan. 14 and the campus deadline, Feb. 7.Â
