Shake Shack Opens First OC Location in Irvine

Burger chain opens 3,000 SF outpost in Irvine Spectrum

Orange County’s first Shake Shack location opened today at the Irvine Spectrum Center.

The 3,000-square-foot restaurant space is located to the right of the Regal movie theater and across from Javier’s restaurant.

The OC location marks the company’s 40th restaurant to open in California and the 300th to open domestically. Shake Shack currently counts more than 430 restaurants internationally and in the U.S.

“It has been an incredible experience growing our West Coast Shack footprint over the past few years,” Culinary Director Mark Rosati told the Business Journal. “After a lot of consumer demand, Orange County was a natural next step,” Rosati said.

Two other spots are expected to open this year in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach. An OC-specific menu offering, a creamsicle shake, will be included in the local locations with 5% of each sale donated to the California Department of Parks and Recreation.

The Spectrum is OC’s fifth largest retail center with total sales of $631 million as of June 2022 and a current count of 169 stores.
