Chipotle Mexican Grill has appointed Vice President of Brand Marketing Stephanie Perdue its interim chief marketing officer as former executive Chris Brandt steps down after almost eight years with the restaurant chain.
Brandt, also Chipotle’s chief brand officer, joined the Newport Beach-based company in 2018 after working at Blooming Brands Inc. for over a year. He also previously worked with Chipotle’s former CEO Brian Niccol at Taco Bell in Irvine.
Chipotle said it has begun the search for a new CMO.
Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel Roger Theodoredis has also departed his role, effective Jan. 12, with Chief Human Resources Officer Ilene Eskenazi adding “chief legal officer” to her title.
“Roger has been a trusted advisor to our leadership team and Board of Directors, while Chris has been instrumental in helping Chipotle become a purpose-driven lifestyle brand, making it more visible, accessible and culturally relevant with consumers,” CEO Scott Boatwright said in a statement.
Both Brandt and Theodoredis will remain in advisory roles at Chipotle for a limited time.
Chipotle shares ended Monday’s trading session little changed at $40.34 apiece with a $54 billion market cap (NYSE: CMG).
