Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) has launched its newest menu addition, chicken al pastor, to every restaurant companywide for the first time.
The Newport Beach-based restaurant chain counts almost 3,200 locations worldwide including Canada, the U.K., France, and Germany.
The new protein option was previously tested in 94 restaurants located in Denver and Indianapolis whose feedback encouraged Chipotle to roll out the dish globally at the same time.
The Mexican-cuisine restaurant chain also launched a new concept dubbed Farmesa last month with a menu that features bowls of protein, greens and grain.
Chipotle opened 100 stores during its fourth quarter – the first time it’s hit that mark in a quarter – 90 of which included its drive thru concept, the Chipotlane.
Shares rose 1.1% to $1,583.19 during midday trading with a market cap of $45 billion.
