Emerald Expositions LLC in San Juan Capistrano acquired several tradeshows from New York-based Vendome Group LLC and Macfadden Communications Group LLC. The financial terms of the two transactions weren’t disclosed.
Chief Executive David Loechner said in a statement the company had always planned more acquisitions. “I am delighted we were able to add these two growing businesses, each with leading brands in their respective markets, to the Emerald portfolio.”
Emerald acquired three properties from Vendome Group: Healthcare Design Conference and Expo and the complementary Healthcare Design Magazine, which focus on design for healthcare facilities; the Environments For Aging conference and magazine that center on homes and communities for the aging population; and Construction SuperConference, an event for lawyers working in commercial construction markets.
All three tradeshows are based in Cleveland.
Emerald bought International Pizza Expo and Pizza Today magazine from Macfadden Communications. Pizza Expo, based in Louisville, Ky., is the largest tradeshow for pizza professionals in the world and ranks in the top 200 largest tradeshows in the U.S., according to Emerald.
“This is Emerald’s first tradeshow acquisition in the foodservice industry and we are exceptionally pleased that the International Pizza Expo is such a strong, vibrant and growing show,” Joe Randall, Emerald’s executive vice president of design, healthcare, antiques and military, said in a statement.
