Santa Ana-based Greenwood Hall Inc. said it would work with Boston-based curriculum provider Cengage Learning to offer online course content to colleges and universities.
Greenwood provides outsourced technology and personnel for student recruitment, retention and tracking, and currently works with about 30 schools.
The new agreement means Greenwood can help schools start or expand distance learning programs, as well.
“Schools come to us and want to go online,” said Greenwood Chief Executive Dr. John Hall. “Now we can build [those] programs, based on the school’s curriculum.”
Cengage is an educational materials publisher active in about 20 countries.
One of its clients is Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp., with which it offers online high school diploma completion to some of the fast food chain’s employees.
Hall said the company plans to use only Cengage’s higher education materials for now.
Greenwood Hall is a thinly traded public company with a market cap of about $21 million.
