Endologix Acquires Pounce System from Surmodics

Adds FDA-cleared device to vascular intervention portfolio

Irvine medical device maker Endologix today announced its acquisition of the Pounce Thrombectomy System from Minnesota-based Surmodics Inc.

The Pounce System is an FDA-cleared device for the non-surgical removal of thrombi and emboli from peripheral arteries.

“The Pounce Thrombectomy System is a strong strategic and clinical fit for Endologix,” John Liddicoat, chief executive and president of Endologix, said in a statement.

The acquisition expands Endologix’ commercial offerings, which include its Detour, Alto and AFX2 platforms.
