Allied Universal Buys Vinson

Santa Ana’s Allied Universal, the largest private security firm in North America, bought Vinson Guard Service, a New Orleans-based guard services firm in the southeastern United States, the two companies said today. Terms weren’t disclosed.

“Vinson Guard Service’s well-established platform, highly skilled security professionals and a proven track record of providing superior security solutions will ideally complement and enhance our business,” said Steve Jones, CEO of Allied Universal in a statement.

Vinson is one of the largest privately owned security providers in the United States, the statement said. Its website said it has “hundreds of clients throughout the Gulf Coast.”

Allied Universal has more than $7.3 billion in revenue and some 215,000 employees.
