Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and Inland Empire believes in the power of mentorship to help the next generation reach their full potential. As the largest mentoring organization in the state, the non-profit is excited to announce the appointment of Tracy Carmichael, PhD, as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Dr. Carmichael brings 20 years of non-profit management experience, including executive positions at Think Together, Project Hope Alliance, and Long Beach City College. Her expertise in bridging research and practice, driving innovation, and scaling impactful programs will be vital as the organization prepares to launch a new Strategic Plan in early 2025. This plan, shaped by extensive market research and community engagement, will propel the future vision of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Commitment to youth well-being has been a cornerstone of Dr. Carmichael’s career. She is a 2024 UCI Lauds and Laurels recipient and was recognized as a 2020 40 Under 40 honoree by the Greater Irvine Chamber. Dr. Carmichael holds a B.A. in Criminology from UC Irvine, an M.A. in Educational Research from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in Education from UC Irvine. Her leadership promises to elevate the impact of mentoring in our community.
