Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was flat at 3,550.90 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5% to 29,310.88.

The Nasdaq fell 1% to 11.595.73.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 1.5% to 0.944%.

The price of gold increased 1.5% to $1,882.50.

The price for a barrel of oil rose 2.2% to $41.19.

MANUFACTURING

Shares in Santa Ana-based aerospace and defense manufacturer Ducommun Inc. (NYSE: DCO) rose 9.2% to $42.96 apiece for a market cap of $503 million. The shares have gained more than 20 percent over the last month. Zacks Equity Research said last week that “Ducommun is likely undervalued currently. And when considering the strength of its earnings outlook, DCO sticks out at as one of the market’s strongest value stocks.”

RETAIL

Irvine Western-inspired retailer Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) fell 7% to $38.68 apiece for a market cap of $1.1 billion. The stock was giving up some of 18% rise of the day before.
