Irvine Company Announces Week of Fashion Events

The Irvine Company’s retail properties, Fashion Island, Irvine Spectrum Center and the Market Place, plan to launch Style Week Orange County on Sept. 10, packed with “fashion shows, shopping parties and trend presentations to celebrate the best in O.C. style.”

“Style Week O.C. is a great way to showcase the talented designers we have right here in Southern California, in addition to all the exciting trends for fall from our collection of retailers,” Stacie Ellis, senior director of marketing for Irvine Company Retail Properties, said in a statement. “We’re honored to host this great event for the seventh year and to be able to bring the community together to enjoy the art and craft of fashion.”

Style Week kicks off with fashion shows at the Fashion Island Neiman Marcus in Newport Beach introducing fall trends from brands such as Tom Ford, Stella McCartney and Jimmy Choo. They will be followed by the Fashion Island Collection Runway Show on Sept. 12 at the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdale’s Courtyard, featuring collections from retailers such as American Rag Cie, Ella Moss, Joie, Splendid, Trina Turk and Vince Camuto.

A Fashion Museum Soirée is scheduled for Sept. 13 showcasing work by student designers from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Irvine who took part in the Celebrity Cruises design competition. Fashion Island’s boutiques and specialty retailers, including Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, BCBG, Garys and Max Azria will also present “their best in cocktail and evening gown looks.” Proceeds from the event will support the institute Museum Fashion Council’s acquisition of the Helen Larson Historic Fashion Collection.

Retailers at the Market Place in Tustin, including White House Black Market, Loft, Off Broadway Shoes, Charming Charlie’s and Stein Mart, plan to host “trend presentations” on Sept. 20, while shoppers will get a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree.

Irvine Spectrum Center is slotted for two events, Street Scene Runway Show on Sept. 19 showcasing the “latest in casual and denim trends,” and the Spectrum Collection Runway Show at the Giant Wheel on Sept. 20, hosted by designer and TV fashion correspondent Nick Verreos.
