Turk to be Argyros Interim Dean

Thomas Turk will serve as interim dean of Chapman University’s Argyros School of Business and Economics, effective August 1, the university said.

He replaces Reggie Gilyard, who is stepping down as dean.

Turk currently serves as an associate professor of management at the business school and for one year was associate dean.

He joined Chapman in 1992 after serving for five years on the faculty at Texas A&M University. He earned a Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of California-Irvine in 1988.

Gilyard was a senior adviser at Boston Consulting Group in Los Angeles, where he was a partner and managing director prior to being named Argyros dean in 2012. He joined the board of First American Financial Corp. in Santa Ana, in May.
