Midday Stock Roundup
Tuesday, December 18, 2012The S&P 500 rose 1.09% to 1,446 in midday trading Tuesday.
The Nasdaq was up 1.31% to 3,050, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.76% to 13,336.
The yield on a 10-year treasury bond rose 2.67% to 1.81%.
The price of gold was off 1.25% to $1,676 per ounce.
Shares of Huntington Beach-based BJ’s Restaurants Inc. jumped about 11% to $37 for a market value of $1 billion. Restaurant operators were generally up in afternoon trading Tuesday.
Irvine-based Quality Systems Inc. was up about 5% to $18. The healthcare software maker had a recent market value of $1.1 billion.
