Tech Coast Angels is an angel-investor group organized into five networks in Southern California, including OC, Los Angeles, San Diego, the Central Coast and the Inland Empire.
Its members provide funding and mentoring to early-stage companies.
Investments dipped slightly from the same period last year, when a total of $11.9 million was invested.
The number of companies getting funds stayed the same.
Among the companies that got money through Tech Coast Angels were Los Angeles-based mobile advertising startup PageWoo Inc., Valencia-based hydrogen sensor technology company H2scan Corp., and Hipmunk Inc., a travel search company in San Francisco.
