Gray New CEO at South County Bank

Glenn Gray is now chief executive of South County Bank N.A., a subsidiary of Rancho Santa Margarita-based CalWest Bancorp.

Gray resigned from the chief post at Tustin-based Sunwest Bank in May, after six years on the job.

Sunwest named Chris Walsh as chief executive following Gray’s departure. Walsh also continues in his role as president of the bank.

South County Bank’s parent company recently swung back to profits with its second-quarter results. It reported net income of $36,000 for the quarter, which compared with a loss of $278,000 last year.

Profit for the first six months of the year was $169,000, versus a loss of $694,000 for the same period a year earlier.

The bank’s assets topped $150 million at the end of June.
