OC Weekly parent Duncan McIntosh Co. has shuttered the local publication.
The plans by the Fountain Valley-based media firm appear to have been made abruptly with OC Weekly staff tweeting “Today, the day before Thanksgiving, our owner Duncan McIntosh Company has decided to shut us down. For the last quarter century, we’ve tried to bring good stories to Orange County. It’s been fun, but now we’re done.”
Duncan McIntosh’s portfolio includes Sea Magazine and Boating World, in addition to the Newport Boat Show. The media company acquired OC Weekly in 2016 from Voice Media Group.
