The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 0.9% to 2.26%.
The price of gold was down 0.52% to $1,068.50.
ENERGY
Clean Energy Fuels Corp. was up 10.4% to $3.92 and a $355.8 million market cap in a broader rally of commodity stocks as oil prices rose. The Newport Beach-based company builds and operate or natural fueling gas stations.
REAL ESTATE
Local homebuilders were up Wednesday following a positive November new-home sales report. Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. was up 1%. Irvine-based CalAtlantic Group Inc. was up 2.4% to $38.49 and a market cap of $4.6 billion. The homebuilder is the result of a merger of Standard Pacific Corp. and Ryland Group Inc.
William Lyon Homes in Newport Beach was also up 1.3%, and Irvine-based TRI Pointe Group was up 0.8%. Nationwide sales of new single-family homes were up 4.3% in November to 490,000, according to a Commerce Department report.
