The S&P 500 was down 1% to 2,045.89. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.3% at 17,669.07. The Nasdaq was down 0.8% to 4,852.65
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was flat at 2.10%.
The price of gold was flat at $1,153.
RESTAURANTS
Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco Holdings Corp. was up 14% to $27.41 and a $1 billion market cap on positive quarterly and annual earnings and income. The fast food chicken chain earned about $43 million, with pro forma net income at about $22 million, for the year, on revenue of $345 million
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Broadcom Corp. was down 1.6% to $44 and a $26.3 billion market cap, Toronto-based Canaccord Genuity downgraded the chipmaker’s shares to “hold” from “buy” and lowered its price target to $47 from $50.
