Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.1% to 3,435,72 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 0.4% to 28,187.36, while the Nasdaq increased 0.4% to 11,421.66.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury jumped 6% to 0.685%.

The price of gold decreased 0.8% to $1,923.90.

The price for a barrel of oil climbed 2% to $43.46.

HEALTHCARE

Orange County healthcare shares were trending up in Tuesday midday trading, led by ICU Medical Inc. (Nasdaq: ICUI) in San Clemente. The company, which develops and sells medical products, rose 3.5% to $188.89 and a nearly $4 billion market cap. Shares are up 18% since mid-March, the onset of the pandemic in Orange County.

Irvine-based Urovant Science Ltd. (Nasdaq: UROV) rose 3.1% to $8.24 and a $256 million market cap; and Lake Forest-based medical device maker Staar Surgical Company (Nasdaq: STAA) increased 2% to $47.43 and a $2.2 billion market cap.

REAL ESTATE

Shares for Aliso Viejo-based New Home Company are off 2.6% to $4.40 and a $80 million market cap. The decrease comes after the company posted a 18% share increase last week, reaching nearly $4.60 on Friday from $3.89 last Monday. Shares are currently trading at less than one-third of their average volume.
