The S&P 500 was up 0.1% in midday trading Friday to 3,107.94.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3% to 27,849.48, while the Nasdaq was flat at 8,508.49.
Crude oil was off 1.4% to $57.75 a barrel.
The price of gold was flat at $1,463.
The yield on a 10-Year Treasury bond was down 0.1% to 1.77%.
HEALTHCARE
San Clemente-based Glaukos Corp. (NYSE: GKOS) dipped 2.7% to $61.38 for a market value of $2 billion. The glaucoma-focused medical device maker yesterday said it closed its purchase of Waltham, Mass.-based Avedro Inc., a maker of technologies aimed at helping improve vision.
Cryoport Inc. (Nasdaq: CYRX) shares fell 3% to $14.49 on lower than average volume. The Irvine-based biopharmaceutical logistics services provider had a recent market capitalization of $519 million.
