Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 rose 0.6% to 3,003.17 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.1% to 26,804.49.

The Nasdaq gained 0.9% to 8,158.09.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond surged 3.2% to 1.8%.

The price of gold decreased 0.4% to $1,488.

The price for a barrel of oil fell 0.9% to $53.29.

RETAIL

Irvine-based retailer Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (Nyse: BOOT) rose 2.3% to $37.70 a share for a market cap of $1.1 billion. Zacks Investment Research late last week said Boot Barn “is definitely worth putting on your aggressive growth stock radar screen” given its recent performance and good valuation.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based data analytics software maker Alteryx (Nyse: AYX) fell 2.8% to $92.74 per share for a market cap of $5.6 billion. The shares have fallen 35% from their 52-week high of almost two months ago and SeekingAlpha said earlier today “there is clearly a massive correction going on, and a serious one as the volume is also pretty high.”
