The price of gold increased 1.5% to $1,342.
The price of oil was up 0.9% to $56.07 a barrel.
HEALTHCARE
Avid Bioservices Inc. (Nasdaq: CDMO) was up 8.6% to $4.44 and a $249 million market cap. Shares in the Tustin contract drug manufacturer are trading about 9% higher than their average daily volume.
Axonics Modulation Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: AXNX) surged 6.7% to $17.54 and a $487 million market cap. Before the markets opened, the Irvine-based company announced positive results from a clinical study
related to its devices for the treatment of urinary and bowel dysfunction. Shares earlier had hit a 52-week high of $18.15 on the news.
