The S&P 500 was up 0.5% in midday trading to 2,751.88.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average also rose 0.5% to 25,594.63.
The Nasdaq climbed 0.6% to 7,374.83.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was 0.6% higher to 3.22%.
The price of gold fell 0.4% to $1,227.
HEALTHCARE
Sabra Health Care REIT Inc. (Nasdaq: SBRA) in Irvine was down 7% to $20.77 and a $3.7 billion market cap. The REIT missed estimates on revenue and funds from operations in its quarterly report yesterday. Shares are still up about 31% since a 52-week low in February.
Presbia PLC (Nasdaq: LENS)—chartered in Ireland, headquartered in Irvine—was up 30% to 95 cents a share and a $16 million market cap on five times its 90-day volume. Shares in the eye care device maker are down 70% year-to-date.
TECHNOLOGY
Ducommun Inc. (NYSE: DCO) was up 8.5% to $41.45 and a $473 million market cap. The aerospace and defense engineering and manufacturing firm beat analyst expectations on quarterly revenue and earnings yesterday.
