HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based HCP Inc. was down 2.1% to $35.89 and a $16.9 billion market cap. Investment analysts have lowered their price on the company based on the upcoming sale of its ManorCare subsidiary and its related skilled-nursing and assisted-living facilities. The healthcare real estate investment trust has scheduled the sale for Oct. 31.
SERVICES
Irvine-based CorVel Corp. was down 0.6% to $34.60 and a $678.1 million market cap on three times its usual trading volume. The company provides workers compensation cost containment services and plans to release its second quarter financials on Nov. 1.
