UC Irvine to Take Over Orange County Museum of Art

Letter of intent signed by the two organizations, waiting on approval

UC Irvine is set to take over stewardship of the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA).

“A nonbinding, exploratory letter of intent has been signed, and the two organizations continue to develop a definitive agreement, pending approval of the University of California Board of Regents,” UCI said in a June 10 statement.

OCMA would collaborate with the UC Irvine Jack and Shanaz Langson Institute and Museum of California Art.

The agreement is expected to be finalized by late September.
