JW Marriott Anaheim will open in May 2020.
The 466-room project near Anaheim GardenWalk is the first four diamond-level hotel in the city since 2001; the second looks to be the 613-room Westin Anaheim Resort, next to the convention center, scheduled for a summer debut.
JW Marriott will include 15 meeting rooms and 43,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function spaces; a rooftop bar; swimming pool; and fitness center.
Orange-based Prospera Hotels Inc. and Anaheim-based O’Connell Hotel Group developed the 12-story property at an investment estimated at north of $150 million.
