Newport Beach’s Lido House hotel has named Rory Emslie as its new general manager.
Emslie first joined Lido House in 2021 as director of rooms and was most recently hotel manager.
Prior to Lido House, Emslie worked at Marriott International for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. for almost seven years. He started at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel and worked his way up to front of the house manager. Later, Emslie was part of opening The Ritz-Carlton, Bacara Santa Barbara and the launch of the first Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection vessel, Evrima, in Europe.
Emslie’s appointment comes during the property’s current renovations, which include five new luxury cottages, an expanded banquet event space and its new Glass House venue on Newport Lawn.
Lido House, owned and developed by Bob Olson, counts 130 guest rooms – including one presidential suite, several executive suites, and five custom-designed three-story cottages – and 15,000 square feet of meetings and events space.
