John Wayne Airport Adds Breeze Airways

New airline to offer nonstop daily flights to Orlando, Provo

John Wayne Airport (SNA) has granted Salt Lake City-based Breeze Airways two daily slots with service starting in February.

The two flights a day will be nonstop routes connecting Orange County to Orange County (MCO) in Orlando, Fla., and to Provo (PVU) in Salt Lake City. A one stop service between Provo and Orlando will be available as well.

The OC service marks Breeze’s 100th nonstop service and its fourth station in California, according to President Tom Doxey. Founded by David Neeleman, the airline started in 2021 mainly servicing the east and southeast markets and this year expanded to the west coast.

“Breeze supports community interests by bringing Orange County a fleet of cleaner, quieter aircraft,” John Wayne Airport Director Charlene Reynolds said in a statement. “We are excited to deliver a superior level of convenience for our guests with additional service and new destinations.”

Breeze’s aircraft includes Embraer 195’s and Airbus A220-300’s. Orlando fares start at $119 and Provo at $49 with three seating options available.

SNA reported passenger traffic count of over 1 million for September, showing an increase of 29% from last year. Total aircraft operations decreased 6.2% to 26,209 last month.
