Computer networking products maker Lantronix Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX) in Irvine said it has bought management solutions provider Uplogix Inc. of  Austin,Texas.
The price was approximately $8 million in cash with an additional payment of up to $4 million, subject to the achievement of certain revenue targets for Uplogix.
Lantronix said in a statement yesterday it sees significant operating and product development synergies in the combined company and expects the acquisition will be accretive to non-GAAP earnings in the first six months of operations.
Shares in Lantronix rose 2.3% to $5.76 per share today for a market cap of $202 million, bucking the trend that saw stocks down across the board.
