Kofax Purchases Ephesoft to Expand Document Handling Capabilities

Irvine-based firms specialize in business process automation

Business automation software company Kofax in Irvine has purchased Ephesoft Inc. to extend document-processing capabilities. Financial terms were not released.

“We’ve followed Ephesoft’s progress in market for years as we’ve both focused on helping customers digitally transform their businesses,” Kofax CEO Reynolds Bish said in a statement today announcing the purchase. “This acquisition extends our intelligent document processing solutions and cloud capabilities, allowing Kofax to better address the needs of customers around the world.”

The statement said that Ike Kavas, the founder and CEO of Irvine-based Ephesoft, “will continue leading Ephesoft’s organizational efforts.”
