Irvine’s Epicor Software Corp., a maker of business software for manufacturers, retailers and large corporations, on Thursday gave a better-than-expected sales outlook for the current quarter and beat Wall Street’s expectations on sales for the second quarter.
For the third quarter, Epicor said it’s expecting to report adjusted profits of $8.2 million to $9.5 million, more than the average of $8 million in profits analysts are expecting.
Epicor is looking to report sales of $106 million to $108 million, more than the $104 million analysts are looking for.
The rosier top line outlook comes on the heels of Epicor’s results for the second quarter, which beat analysts’ expectations on sales but were in line on profits.
For the three months through June 30, Epicor reported sales of $109 million, up 9% from the same period a year earlier and beating analysts’ expectation of $105 million in revenues.
Excluding charges for stock compensation, restructuring, write-downs on assets and other one-time costs, the company posted $8 million in profits, up 14% from the year-ago quarter and in line with analysts’ expectations.
Epicor makes business software that helps companies streamline their back-end tasks, including tracking inventory, customers and supplies.
The company’s shares were flat to up 1% in afterhours trading on a recent market value of $500 million.
