Battery Developer Enevate Signs CustomCells Deal

Will help commercialize Enevate's silicon-dominant battery technology.

Irvine-based Enevate, which is developing fast-charge batteries for electric vehicles and other markets, says it has signed a production license agreement with CustomCells of Germany.

Enevate said in a statement today the deal will help commercialize its silicon-dominant battery technology.

Financial terms were not released.

CustomCells develops and manufactures application-specific battery cells.

The German company is an “enabler” in the mobility sector, supplying six of the world’s ten largest automakers and six of the top 10 German automotive suppliers, Enevate said.
