Laura Schwab has joined Irvine-based Rivian Automotive LLC in a sales and marketing role.
Schwab is the former Americas president for Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. and left the luxury automaker Nov. 13 after a five-year stretch in which she served as its first female president. She previously served as director of marketing for Jaguar Land Rover.
She is now vice president of sales and marketing at electric automaker Rivian. It’s a new position at the company, a spokeswoman confirmed.
“After a couple of restful weeks, I’ve come up for fresh air and new adventures at Rivian,” Schwab told followers on Instagram Tuesday. “Can’t wait to share the journey. Day one has already got me feeling inspired….”
Schwab’s hiring is a big win for the automaker, who is now ramping up sales efforts of its R1T truck and R1S SUV, which have starting price tags of $67,500 and $70,000, respectively.
