WHY: Serves as CEO of one of the nation’s largest pediatric healthcare systems, Rady Children’s Health, following the merger of the parent companies of CHOC and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. The health system includes three hospitals and more than 13K employees and 2.4K medical staff. Expected to generate about $3B in revenue.
IN THE NEWS: Recent gifts to Rady Children’s Health in Orange County include an undisclosed amount from the Clavis Foundation, a private family foundation formed by Cylance founder Stuart McClure, his wife Tusdi Vopat and their children, to establish an endowed chair for integrative health. Opened $300M, nine-floor outpatient and research tower housing more than 25 specialty clinics, an advanced imaging center and a research floor for clinical trials at its Orange campus last June. Upcoming opening of the Special Delivery Unit marks a major milestone for Rady Children’s Health in Orange County, allowing healthy mothers to deliver high-risk newborns just steps away from the NICU, ensuring rapid access to specialized care.
NOTABLE: With CHOC since 1991, took the CEO position in 1997. Hospital in Orange has 386 licensed beds and there’s also a 54-bed satellite facility in Mission Hospital. Third largest hospital in OC with $1.3 billion in revenue.
