Newport Marketing Firm Grows Web-Design Staff

Web-based marketing firms are growing individually in size and collectively as a group throughout Orange County.

Newport Beach-based Web-design and Internet-marketing agency ByteLaunch has experienced rapid growth in the past year.

“We’ve hired seven people since October, focusing on our creative Web-design team,” said Mike Craig, owner of ByteLaunch.

The firm recently launched a new website that includes a navigation bar, team bios and other features to promote its services.

The company is offering a $500 promotional discount to businesses this month that’s good toward new Web-design projects.

ByteLaunch was founded as a software and Web-development company in 2006.

The company specializes in areas such as Web design, search-engine optimization, social media marketing and pay-per-click advertising strategy.

Elsewhere, Huntington Beach-based Web-design and search-engine optimization firm Point Click Productions has taken a local approach to its business strategy.

The bulk of the company’s clients are small-business owners in Orange County, although clients in Northern California are growing, said Nick Beske, owner of Point Click Productions.

“We target the Web needs of local businesses then complete nearly any online task, developing a tailored package for each client,” Beske said.

Point Click recently added Huntington Beach-based personal training facility Evolve Gym as a client for its search engine optimization services.

The company has also added Garden Grove-based handyman company A to Z Professional Property Services as a client. Point Click launched a website for A to Z to help the company reach a wider audience and gain more clients, Beske said.

Other OC clients added during the past few weeks include Lido Property Management in Anaheim, Jacot Plumbing in Garden Grove, Impact Fitness in Huntington Beach and the Forensic Expert Witness Association–OC chapter.

Point Click was founded in 2008 and includes eight contracted employees. Beske said the increasing number of statewide clients has necessitated the opening of a second Point Click office in Sacramento in the near future.

Social Strategies

Some of the latest examples of how OC companies are engaging with customers through social media:

n Fountain Valley-based Hyundai Motor America Inc. is using Facebook to publicize a tour it is hosting in select U.S. cities to promote its newest vehicles. The tour, called Re:Mix Lab–Fueled by Hyundai, features live concerts, DJs and car displays. Hyundai asked its Facebook fans to “like” its page for a chance to win a customized 2013 Elantra GT.

n Irvine-based Ruby’s Diner recently celebrated Ruby’s 90th birthday and the first celebration of the diner’s 30th anniversary by offering shakes for 90 cents at all Southern California locations. Customers were asked to post a favorite picture from the shake event on the burger chain’s Facebook page for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate.

n Tustin-based bike-sharing company Bike Nation USA posts a weekly Did You Know Wednesdays Facebook entry of related bicycle information.

The company asks its followers to “like” or “share” the post to be entered into a weekly drawing for free company merchandise. The company promoted its recent Anaheim launch on Facebook with a community event featuring local food trucks, a DJ, free bike repairs and a full program of speakers.

Bike Nation offers free bike usage to the public.
