Several Orange County automakers posted record-breaking sales last month.
Year-over-year sales for Kia America jumped 22% to 51,983 vehicles, a “record-setting” January for the brand. The Irvine automaker’s highest selling vehicle, the Sportage SUV, climbed 44% to 8,602.
Hyundai Motor America rose 9% to 52,001 in a “best January ever” for the brand. Sales for the Fountain Valley automaker were led by the Tucson SUV, which dropped 8% to 12,028.
Mazda North American Operations in Irvine reported sales growth of 9% to 22,967. Sales were led by the CX-5, an SUV, which fell 22% to 9,833 vehicles.
Genesis Motor America, the luxury division of Hyundai, saw another “best-ever” January, posting sales rose 7% to 3,905. The Fountain Valley automaker’s highest-selling vehicle, the GV70 SUV, increased 20% to 1,401 vehicles.
