A fast-casual dessert concept by celebrity chef and restaurateur Fabio Viviani will open its second-ever location in Laguna Niguel on Nov. 10.
Jars Sweets & Things, located at The Center at Rancho Niguel, offers an array of cake-, pie- and custard-based desserts whose 150 rotating flavors range from tiramisu to salted caramel pecan pie.
Unlike with savory foods, “there are not many options for dessert,” Viviani, a “Top Chef” alum, told a crowd of about 20 during the store’s ribbon-cutting ceremony this week. “With Jars, we started a dessert revolution.”
The new location’s franchisees, husband and wife duo Colt and Bethany Nelms, are banking on Orange County’s event scene to drive Jars’ local catering division, they said.
The couple plans to open more locations in Irvine, Corona Del Mar, Costa Mesa and Tustin, among five other cities.
Jars’ Costa Mesa spot is expected to open within the next two years, according to Bethany Nelms.
