Vans Revenue Up in Quarter, Year

Vans Inc. revenue was up 3% in the fourth quarter of 2015, according to its parent, Greenboro, N.C.-based VF Corp. The Cypress-based shoe and apparel division’s full-year sales totaled $2.2 billion, a 7% increase compared with 2014.

The revenue in the company’s Americas region was “up at a low single-digit percentage rate” in the quarter that ended Jan. 2, while the Asia Pacific market sales increased more than 20%. Vans’ revenue was “down at a mid-single-digit rate” in Europe.

VF Corp. said it expects revenue for its Outdoor & Action Sports coalition—that also includes The North Face, Timberland, Kipling, Jansport, Reef and Eastpak brands—to increase at a “high single-digit percentage rate,” in 2016.

The companywide revenue increased 5% to $3.4 billion for the quarter and about $12.4 billion for the year, a 1% uptick. VF’s quarterly profit was $312.2 million, up 156% from the $122.1 million it posted a year ago. Its full-year profit was up 18% to $1.23 billion.

VF has a market value of about $25.2 billion. It offers denim under the Wrangler, Lee, Riders and Rock & Republic names. Its premium lifestyle apparel labels include 7 For All Mankind, Splendid and Ella Moss.
