St. John Knits CEO to Step Down

Geoffroy van Raemdonck will step down as the chief executive of the Irvine-based high-end knitwear maker St. John Knits International Inc., according to California Apparel News.

Executive Chairman Bernd Beetz will take over on an interim basis when van Raemdonck leaves on Nov. 6.

Beetz was appointed chairman in July 2013, shortly after he acquired a stake in the company, which had an estimated $325 million in sales last year. He was previously president and chief executive of Paris-based LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s Parfums Christian Dior; head of global beauty products company Coty Inc.; and an executive at Cincinnati-based Proctor & Gamble Co.

Van Raemdonck also came to St. John Knits in July of last year, after serving as president of Louis Vuitton’s South Europe region. He replaced Glenn McMahon who stepped down as chief executive after a six-year run.
