What About the Angels?

The Samueli family’s plans for OCVibe were at one point designed to be complementary to those planned for the neighboring Angel Stadium by Arte Moreno.

OCVibe is moving ahead on its own after Anaheim city council members decided to cancel Moreno’s Angel Stadium land agreement in the wake of an FBI corruption probe over the negotiations.

Moreno is now exploring a sale of the team after owning it for nearly two decades.
“We are watching what’s happening, and we’re supportive of new plans for the 100 acres there,” Young said.

“We hope the city and the new owners will get back on track with plans that will only add to the fun and vibrancy of what we are planning.”

The Samuelis are said to not be interested in buying the baseball team.
