Newport Medical Instruments Inc., a maker of medical ventilators for babies, kids and adults, has leased a 34,886-square-foot industrial building at 1690 Scenic Ave. in Costa Mesa. The five-year lease is valued at $1.3 million. The lease is an expansion for the company, which is keeping its headquarters nearby. Newport Medical is a privately held company run by doctors. Its products are used to get oxygen to patients who aren’t breathing well enough on their own. The devices are used in emergency rooms, intensive care units, ambulances and home healthcare. Greg Velastegui of Voit Real Estate Services and Ted Sawyer of Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services Inc. represent landlord Sang T. Nguyen.
