French medical device maker Balt planted its U.S. flag in Irvine in 2016.
Since then, the subsidiary company has grown to more than 400 employees and is expanding with a newly-doubled cleanroom and lease of a 24,000-square-feet building next door.

Balt moved into its Irvine site in 2017 after Bridgepoint Advisers acquired a majority stake in the company.

Balt develops products for hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke with 14 products approved in the U.S. and plans to launch 18 more by 2028.
Last year, the company doubled the size of its cleanroom to 17,000 square feet to meet growing demand.
