Landsea Breaks Ground on 129 HB Townhomes

Landsea Homes Corp., a homebuilder formerly based in Orange County, recently broke ground on its latest project, Essex + Gage, an all-electric townhome neighborhood in Huntington Beach.

Essex + Gage would feature 129 row and carriage style townhomes at the corner of Edinger Avenue and Gothard Street near the Bella Terra shopping center. The townhomes are expected to be ready before the summer, with prospective buyers choosing from one of 11 floorplans.

A price range for the townhomes was not revealed.

The median sale price for a Huntington Beach townhouse, per Redfin.com, is $985,000, as of December 2024.

Each townhome would be three levels above ground and range from 1,097 to 2,516 square feet. Floorplans would range from two to four bedrooms. Buyers would have the option to adapt certain spaces into a home office, gym or guest suite.

All townhomes would also feature Apple Home technology, allowing residents to automate portions of their home, such as Wi-Fi entry, smart doorbell camera, garage door opener control and thermostat operation.

Several amenities would be available to residents, such as a pool, outdoor barbecue, fire pit area, bike racks and dog park.

Essex + Gage is the latest in Landsea’s Southern California portfolio. The homebuilder also developed Mason in Anaheim, Hudson in Placentia, Narra Hills on Fontana and Peri and Rubi in Ontario.

Landsea Homes, a publicly traded residential homebuilder, was originally headquartered in Newport Beach but relocated to Dallas in 2023. The homebuilder developed residential projects in Arizona, Boston, Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Texas, in addition to California’s major metropolitan areas of Los Angeles, Orange County and Silicon Valley.
